Before being registered to attend, you are required to complete an expression of interest form. This helps us ensure the right mix of occupations are present at each course date. Registration closes 1 week prior to each session date.

QTEC is a one-day interprofessional trauma workshop including procedural skills stations, small group discussion and immersive scenarios. It provides an exciting opportunity to network and generate discussion amongst care providers in different settings across the state and is facilitated by leading emergency and trauma clinicians.

This course is based on the concepts and resources from Queensland Trauma Education, a central point for multidisciplinary trauma care education, resources and tools.

Topics covered

QTEC focuses on trauma reception and management of the multiply injured patient, covering:

Prenotification and allocation of roles
Structured trauma assessment
Shared mental model and teamwork models
Use of splints/binders and tourniquet application
Chest decompression and intercostal catheter insertion
Ventilation strategies in trauma care

CPD Accreditation

Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM)

QTEC is approved for 8 CPD hours by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)

QTEC is approved for 6.75 CPD hours by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
